As an educator utilizing the WIDA ACCESS Placement Test (W-APT) ™ (the "Test") and/or other related products of the WIDA Consortium which include but are not limited to the WIDA MODEL assessment, the WIDA ELD Standards books – both the 2007 and 2012, and the WIDA Can Do Descriptors:
- I understand that the Department of Public Instruction, an agency of the State of Wisconsin, U.S.A., together with the WIDA Consortium, has developed the Test to measure English proficiency based on the WIDA English Language Proficiency Standards. These standards and the test are the result of the collaborative efforts of the states in the WIDA Consortium.
- I understand that the items I view are the property of the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System; the copyright to the Test, its items, and all other WIDA materials belongs to the Board Regents of the University of Wisconsin System.
- I understand the importance of keeping all Test materials secure and confidential. I agree that I will keep all materials secure and confidential at all times and I will work with my colleagues to ensure they also keep the Test confidential.
- I understand the results of the Test are one, and only one, part of evaluating a student's English language proficiency. WIDA and its non-profit dissemination partner, the Wisconsin Center for Education Products and Services (WCEPS), strongly discourage using results of the Test as the one and only data point for admitting a student into a school or for making other high-stakes decisions. The Test results can play a valuable role in those decisions but should not be the only information considered.
